Journaling and its Benefits

ree

Have you ever felt like you couldn't explain your feelings? It is hard to breathe, think, or even feel. You feel disconnected from yourself, not knowing the purpose of your days. You lose sight of your goals and ambitions; even waking up feels like a chore. If this sounds like you, then journaling is just what you need.

My personal experience with journaling was transformational. I have faced these feelings many times, but I never knew how to deal with them. I started having mental breakdowns on the regular, and it affected all aspects of my life. However, after I started journaling, I began to feel more connected to myself and kept my vision and goals in front of me all the time. It allowed me to stay focused on what actually matters in my life and to stay away from what is irrelevant.

Journaling has many benefits. It allows you to reflect on your actions and your thoughts, to acknowledge them, and to evaluate them. This helps you identify your weaknesses and what is important to you. It also helps you improve yourself, your confidence, and your health while also achieving your goals. Other benefits include better sleep, improved relationships, an IQ and EQ boost, and a stronger immune system. In research (Baikie Wilhelm, 2005), it has also been proven that capturing our thoughts on paper can induce lowered blood pressure, improved lung and liver function, as well as a better mood.

There’s a variety of ways to journal, like gratitude journaling, bullet journaling, and stream-of-consciousness writing. I personally like to write about my thoughts, first acknowledging them, then going on to write about why I am having these emotions and what I can do to healthily cope with them. This allows me to stay on track as I navigate the nuances and difficulties of life.

Journaling consistently can do the same for you and enhance the overall quality of your life. It can even increase the efficiency of your time usage. Always make sure to engage in mindful activities like journaling to destress yourself, untangle your accumulated thoughts, and release all of the negative energy. Journaling can not only improve your mental well-being, but it can also have significant physiological benefits. It’s the best for anyone and everyone who wants to take back control of their life and their thoughts.

Best of luck on your journey, and I wish all of you wellness and safety.
